The result of lateral tibial plateau fractures with depression more than 5 mm that were treated operatively

Abstract

Fourty patients with lateral tibial plateau fractures were treated operatively at Orthopaedics and Traumatology Department in Haydarpaşa Numune State Hospital, İstanbul between January 1989-September 1993. The average age was 39.1 (19.70). 28 patients were followed-19 male (67%), 11 female (33%). The mean folIow-up time was 33.6 months. Two patients had other injuries of locomotor system besides tibial plateau fractures. The fractures were reviewed according to Hohl s classification and the patents who had depression under 5 mm were excluded. The patients were evaluated according to Rasmussen s criteria. Our results were 6 perfect (21.4%), 19 good (66.9%), 2 moderate (6.1%) and 1 bad (3.6%). There were no short term complication except one who exhibited deep wound infection.

Özet

Ocak 1989-Eylül1993 tarihleri arasında İstanbul Haydarpaşa Numune Hastanesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniğinde lateral tibia plato kırığı olan 40 hasta cerrahi olarak tedavi edildi. Ortalama yaş 39.1 (19-70) idi. 40 hastanın 28 tanesi 19 erkek (%67), 11 kadın (%33)-takip edildi. Ortalama takip süresi 33.6 aydır. 2 hastada tibia plato kırığının yanında diğer lokomotor sistem yaralanması da mevcut idi. Kırık Hohl sınıflamasına göre değerlendirildi. 5 milimetreden az çökmesi olan vakalar değerlendirmeye alınmadı. Hastalar Rasmussen in kriterlerine göre değerlendirildi.
