Five patients with posttravmatic knee extansion contractures were followed for 33.6 (19-51) months after Judet quadricepsplasty. The average age of the patients was 36.2 years (26-50). At the final follow-up average knee flexion was 99° (45-120°) degrees. None of our patients showed neither extension lag nor wound problem. There were three excellent (60%), one good (20%), one poor (20%) results according to the Judet classification. The patients who had poor result had tibia fracture during the manipulation at the surgery and active range of motion was from O to 45 degrees. We are in the opinion that the judet quadricepsplasty is an effective and confidental technique in the treatment of limited knee flexion due to posttravmatic extension contractures.
