Abstract
Posterior release operation was done to 33 feet of 22 patients with congenital club foot between the years 1982-1987 in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Department of Istanbul Sisli Etfal Hospital. The average age for the operation was 7.5 months and the average duration of follow up was 31 months. The operated feet were evaluated according to Simons criteria and only two had satisfoctory results. We concluded that posterior release operation fails to-correct the deformity in children with club foot above 6 months of age.
Özet
Sağlık ve Sosyal Yardım Bakanlığı Şişli Etfal Hastanesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniğinde, 1982-1987 yılları arasında doğuştan çarpık ayaklı 22 hastanın 33 ayağına posterior gevşetme ameliyatı yapıldı. Ortalama ameliyat yaşı 7.5 ay, ortalama takip süresi 2 sene 7 aydı. Simons ın kriterlerine göre değerlendirilen ayaklardan sadece 2 sinde tatminkar sonuç alındı. 6 ay üzerindeki çarpık ayaklı çocuklarda posterior gevşetme ameliyatının deformiteyi düzeltmede yetersiz kaldığı kanaatine varıldı.
