Abstract

In this report. 28 patients who needed surgical treatmentof benign tumors of the spine in the last ten years have been studied. Among these, 2 were with osteoblastoma. 6 were with aneurysmal bone cys, 3 were with giant cell tumor, 1 was with hemangioma and 4 were with eosinophilic granuloma. 2 of the patients with aneurysmal bone cyst and 1 with eosinophilic granuloma were operated again because of relapses. Postoperative radiotherapy was applied to all the patients with aneurysmal bone cyst and 3 with eosinophllic granuloma. The treatment was only in the form of the resection of the tumor in thepatiens with osteochondroma, osteoid osteoma. osteoblastoma and hemangioma. Since the tumor broke the stability, the stabilization of the spine was necessary in the patients with aneurysmal bone cyst, giant cell tumor and eosinophilic granuloma.
