The incidence of stress fractures in young athletes has i n c reased with the popularization of sports among childr e n and adolescents. Stress fractures are less common in childr e n and adolescents than in adults. A combination of intrinsic or anatomical factors and extrinsic factors such as training pit - falls and environmental insufficiencies predispose athletes to s t ress fractures. This review aims to outline current knowl - edge about clinical manifestations, diagnostic imaging, and t reatment of stress fractures in children and adolescents.
