Abstract

The patients that had a soft tlssue operation for club foot between september 1984 and september 1989 at Ankara University Medical Faculty were retrospectively evaluated. There were 85 feet on 58 patients of which 36 were male. In 46% of the patients the deformity was bilateral. At the time of surgery most of the patients were between the ages of 1-2 years. After an average follow-up of 10 months (Range 3-39 mo). 76 feet (89%) were clinically considered to be in perfect or good condition. These results were obtained on Patients that had complete subtalar release operations or medial release between the ages of 6 to 12 months. The results were better in patients that had received conservative treatment prior to surgical intervention. Radiologic evaluation was also performed and it was found that the greatest amount of correction in the talocalcaneal index was in patients that had CSTR between the ages of 1-2 years.

Özet

PEV tanısıyla Eylül 1984-Eylül 1989 yılları arasında Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi inde yumuşak doku ameliyatı yapılan 36 sı erkek 58 çocuğun 85 ayağı retrospekt olarak incelendi. Tutulum %46 bilateraldi.
