The subject of this research is 8 patient with osteoid osteoma who have applied to and have been operated on in the orthopaedic department of Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty between 1976-1985. It is claimed that the natural clinical prognosis usually results in spontaneous healing of the lesion, but since the pain is excessive, the duration is long and in order to prevent permanent deformities, early surgical intervation is necessary.

1976-85 yılları arasında Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Kliniğine müracaat ederek ameliyat olan 8 osteoid osteoma bu araştırmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Doğal klinik gidişin kendiliğinden şifa olduğu ileri sürülmektedir. Ancak ağrının şiddetli olması, uzun sürmesi ve kalıcı deformitelerin önlenmesi için erkenden cerrahi girişim gereklidir.
