Abstract

As the diagnosis accuracy of knee problems with anamnesis. physical examination and radiologic studies is quite low, arthroscopy finds a wider field of application. Arthroscopy was applied to ninety-two cases with chronic knee problems and meniscus lesions between December 1987 and December 1990 in our department. Of these cases, arthrotomy was performed on thirty cases and correlation between arthroscopic and clinical findings have been studied. Twenty-three of our cases are females. sixty-nine are males. The cases were evaluated as such; eightythree were either single meniscallesions or together with other structurallesions and the rest nine with various knee problems. After arthroscopic examination, it has been found out that clinical findings were different in nineteen cases and insufficient in nine. Aiso in twent- two cases, additional findings were encountered. Arthrotomy verified the findings of arthroscopy in 96. 7 percent. These consequences proved that arthroscopy has an undeniable value in knee problems.

Özet

Anamnez, fizik muayene ve radyolojik tetkikler ile diz problemlerinde konulan klinik tanılarda doğruluk oranının yetersiz oluşu artroskopi uygulamalarının yaygınlaşmasına yol açmıştır. Kliniğimizde, Aralık 1987-1990 arası uygulanan 92 artroskopi olgusunu değerlendirdik ve artrotomiyle verifiye edilmiş vakalarla birlikte alınan sonuçlar, tam metodunun diz problemlerindeki tartışılmaz üstünlüğünü göstermektedir.
