A 62-year-old obese women was hospitalized because of her multiple painful lumps in the extremities. The diagnosis of Dercum s disease was established by excisional biopsy of the tumors in the lateral side of the left hip and the medial side of the left knee. Nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drug therapy and local lidocaine injections into the painful tumors were applied. But neither of them was effective. It was found worthwhile to present this case since only one case has been reported in the orthopedic literature up to date.

62 yaşında, obes kadın hasta, ekstremitelerinde ağrılı şişlikleri nedeniyle kliniğimize yatırıldı. Sol kalça lateralinde ve sol diz medialindeki kitlelerden eksizyonal biopsi yapılarak Dercum hastalığı tanısı kondu. Nonsteroid antienflamatuar ilaç tedavisi ve ağrılı şişliklere lokal lidokain enjeksiyonları uygulandı. Hasta bu tedavilerden yarar görmedi. Ortopedik literatürde şimdiye kadar bir olgu yayınlanması nedeniyle olgu sunuldu ve literatür araştırması yapıldı.
