Abstract

A 4x6 cm skin defect has developed following surgical repair of tendo achillis in a 42 years old female patient. Closure of the skin defect was performed by the transfer of a de-epithelized turnover fasciocutaneous flap elevated from the medial aspect of the primary incision. No complication was encountered and the patient had no problem concerning both the skin and the tendon after one year follow-up. it was concluded that deepithelized turnover fasciocutaneous flap planned as in the present case is a simple, easy to perform and effective method for closure of the skin defects which is a common complication following surgical repair of tendo achilles.
